Manulife Yield Opportunities Fund

This all-in-one income solution has a solid record of delivering income and preserving capital without excess volatility. Explore what you’ve been missing.

An income solution for all market environments

Today’s market climate poses a host of challenges to advisors: Market volatility seems here to stay and an aging population is increasingly preoccupied with sustaining a steady income stream.

Faced with these challenges, the Canadian fixed-income team at Manulife Investment Management saw an opportunity—an opportunity to build a better income solution that could:

  • Invest anywhere in the world
  • Hold a diverse portfolio of income assets ranging from government bonds to dividend-paying equities to emerging-market debt
  • Leverage our global network of credit analysts to manage risk
  • Provide a monthly distribution to investors
  • Tactically shift to a more aggressive or defensive stance based on market cycle

Select exposure to high-yield opportunities

High-yield bonds and floating-rate loans are the bread and butter of Manulife Yield Opportunities Fund. The former help us meet our income targets while the latter provide stability. The trick is getting the right balance at the right time.

Lowering risk

Government bonds act as a safety net for Manulife Yield Opportunities Fund, providing valuable risk protection in declining markets. Our job is to make sure that safety net is securely in place before the market turns.

Core stable returns

We scour the investment-grade universe to uncover incremental yield without adding risk. Doing this consistently year after year has enabled the fund to provide stable returns and elevated income.
